What is a Donut Tire vs. a Full-Size Spare?

Temporary tires, sometimes called donut tires, are compact and lightweight tires that are meant to temporarily go on your vehicle after a flat. They have a smaller size than a regular tire and must be inflated to a higher pressure than other types of spare tires.

The main pro of using a donut-type tire is that it doesn't require as much room to store as a full-size spare. The main con of using this type of tire is that you can't drive on it for very long or at high speeds. It may reduce the effectiveness of your ABS, traction control and the accuracy of your speedometer.

If you experience a flat in Appleton and put on a donut tire, you can then drive to Jaguar Fox Valley and get the tire replaced with a full-size tire. We offer full tire replacement services to get you back on the road safely.
