Car Warranty Information

When you are buying a new or a used car, one of the major considerations before making a purchase is what type of warranty is provided with the vehicle. The two main types are a bumper-to-bumper warranty and a powertrain warranty.

A powertrain warranty covers those items in a vehicle that make the car move forward. This includes the engine and transmission. Powertrain warranties usually last for longer periods than do bumper-to-bumper warranties. A bumper-to-bumper warranty includes almost everything that is in the car. Usually, wear and tear items like wiper blades, light bulbs and belts are not covered. Most of these warranties are for terms such as three years or 36,000 miles or 5 years or 60,000 miles.

If you need more information about what equipment on your vehicle is covered under each type of warranty, contact Jaguar Fox Valley. The service department can answer questions and provide service as needed.
